Thursday afternoon on Day 9 the walkers and crew arrived safely at the Griffith AGnVET store to be greeted by staff and clients. A very big thank you to Nigel Hall from Impact Fertiliser and Asher Hammond from AgriJobs Australia for sharing some of the walk with Bill into Griffith.
Day 10 Friday morning, Bill and the support crew started the day with breakfast at the Hanwood Public School. They had the opportunity to meet the school kids and explain why Bill was doing the walk and provide information about IPF and Lung Disease.
The Hanwood Primary School kids lined the road to cheer us on our way to Leeton after presenting a $500 donation for the Long Walk for Lungs, which was raised from activities & support from the school council. What a great achievement! Thanks to everyone at Griffith and Hanwood Primary School for your wonderful support.
Friday night in Leeton and the walkers were joined by AGnVET Branch Managers Darren Cooper (Leeton) and Luke Diggleman (Barellan) as they visited both the Wade Hotel and Leeton Hotel talking to locals and selling plenty of raffle tickets. Again fantastic support was received by all with Bill getting further opportunity to spread his message about living with IPF.
On Sunday both Darren and Bill went out to the Yanco Markets to meet us many people as possible and continue to raise the awareness of lung disease and The Long Walk for Lungs.
